Challenge Parties
The BioHeritage Challenge's role is to co-ordinate collaborative, multi-disciplinary projects that focus the research of top scientists from 18 partner organisations – our Challenge Parties.
These Challenge Parties include all of Aotearoa New Zealand’s universities and many of its Crown Research Institutes. Mana whenua, iwi and Māori groups, government and non-government organisations, private citizens and regional councils are also working with the Challenge.
We take an innovation pathway approach to working with Challenge Parties, encompassing all stages of effort – from the generation of new ideas to the achievement of impacts. It also allows for a diversity of contributions from a range of individuals and institutions.
This inclusive approach breaks down barriers between research organisations and individual scientists, generating synergies that are leading to ground-breaking scientific advances.
